New wildfire burning in Box Elder County estimated at 8 acres

BOX ELDER COUNTY, Utah, Aug. 15, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A wildfire that started Thursday afternoon in Box Elder County has burned approximately 8 acres, officials said.

The Grouse Creek Fire is burning on private land, and its cause remains under investigation, state wildfire officials said.

“Firefighters were able to put in line around the perimeter of the fire and stop forward progression,” Utah Fire Info stated on social media. “Strong winds are impacting the fire area.”
