DAGGETT COUNTY, Utah, July 13, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A new wildfire sparked by lightning Saturday is burning south of Flaming Gorge Reservoir in Daggett County.
The Speirs Fire burning east of U.S. 191 near Speirs Peak was estimated at 125 acres at 9 p.m. Saturday, state wildfire officials said.
Crews are using air and ground resources to fight the fire.
“About 35 firefighters are assisting in the fire suppression effort, including smokejumpers,” according to Utah Fire Info.
No structures currently are threatened, Ashley National Forest officials said.
