Newest wildfire already 30 acres in Beaver County

BEAVER COUNTY, Utah, July 31, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A new wildfire broke out Tuesday, sharing a county with Utah’s largest wildfire.  

“New start,” Utah Fire Info said online just after 7 p.m. Tuesday. “The Sheep Rock Fire is located in Beaver County and started on private land.

“The fire is approximately 30 acres in size and visible from I-15.

“Multiple ground and air resources are on the scene and working on the fire. The cause is under investigation.”

The area has already endured the Silver King Fire since a lightning strike started it July 5 west of Marysale, now topping 18,000 acres in Beaver and Piute counties and 89 percent contained by 179 firefghters.

Utah Fire Info just after 4 p.m Tuesday said, “The area closure for the Silver King Fire on the U.S. Forest Service’s Fishlake National Forest remains in effect until it is rescinded.
