PERRY, UTAH – October 7, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – A 10-year-old girl told police a man tried to lure her into his car as she walked home from school Friday afternoon.

According to Perry Police Sgt. Scott Hancey, the girl was walking home from a friend’s house near Three Mile Creek Elementary when a man pulled up and told her that her mom had sent him to pick her up.

When the girl told the man her mom would not send anyone to come pick her up, he offered her candy in an attempt to get her inside the car.

The girl then ran from the man to a family member’s home in the area and told them about the incident.

The man is described as a Caucasian male with brown hair with a full brown beard. He was driving a four-door silver car, possibly a Chevy Impala, with a skull on the back window.

Perry Police officers are asking that parents continue to talk to their kids about these types of incidents to make sure they also know what to do if this ever happens to them.

Sgt. Hancey said anyone with any information on the incident or a possible identity of the suspect to call Box Elder County Dispatch at 435.734.3800.
