SALINA, Utah, May 14, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — If you make a threat against a school, even as a hoax, the police won’t accept “I was only kidding” as an excuse.

It’s a felony, as someone found out Sunday after Salina City Police received a complaint of a Snapchat threat.

According to a Facebook post from SCPD, shared by the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office, officials were notified at about 8 p.m. that the “threat was posted on an individual’s Snapchat Story and involved a picture of someone holding a large military style bullet.”

The caption on the picture stated, “don’t go to school tomorrow.”

SCPD officers found the person and determined that the Snap was intended as a hoax.

“Although there were no specific threats made to any specific schools the subject was arrested for a 3rd degree felony terroristic threat and booked in the Sevier County Jail,” police said.
