Boys & Girls Club Scam in Utah
The Salt Lake City Police Department has been notified by several residents in the Sugarhouse area that a man has been attempting to receive monetary donations on behalf of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake. The Boys and Girls Club representatives have confirmed that it is not on their behalf and the suspect does not work for them.
The Salt lake City police Department would like to warn the public that the Boys and Girls Club will not solicit donations door-to-door. Please contact your local Boys and Girls Club for such inquiries @ 801-322-4411.
Suspect description:
· African American.
· 20-30-years-old.
· Approximately 6 feet tall.
· Identifies himself as “Jonathan Turne/Tater” with name tag/badge with this name.
· Claims to be from Missouri (perhaps a slight accent).
· Carrying a red binder possibly with names of residents that have donated.
