See it here: CNN correspondent knocked to the ground during live report on N. Carolina rioting

CHARLOTTE, N. Carolina, July 21, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) Ed Lavandera, a longtime reporter for CNN, was knocked to the ground during Wednesday night’s live coverage of rioting in Charlotte, N. Carolina.

The assault took place as Lavandera was reporting on a second straight night of violence sparked by the officer-involved shooting death of an African-American man named Keith L. Scott.

Scott was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon after being confronted by police as he sat in his car. Scott’s relatives dispute police claims that he was armed at time the fatal shooting.

Lavendera was reporting on the ongoing violence in Charlotte, when he was suddenly knocked to the ground by a passing protester.

The veteran reporter was uninjured in the attack.
