SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Jan. 28, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) — Officers with the Salt Lake City Police Department arrested a 63-year-old man Monday on multiple drug-related charges following an investigation at the Gateway Mall.
The investigation started around 4:50 p.m. on Monday, after officers located a person, later identified as Kade Robert Ford, near 152 South Rio Grande St. Officers determined Ford had active warrants for his arrest.
During the arrest, officers found Ford in possession of drugs, which later field tested positive for methamphetamine. Officers also found drug paraphernalia, including three drug pipes.
At the time of his arrest, Ford was on pretrial release for felony charges, according to court documents.
Ford was arrested for investigation of alleged possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, a second-degree felony; and for three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
“Kade Ford has a long criminal history dating back to the ’80s,” his arrest documents note.
Ford, who is considered a flight risk, was ordered to be held without bail.
