Police: Woman jailed after giving teens contraband for ride to Taco Bell, paying with forged $100 in St. George

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Utah, Nov. 23, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A woman has been booked into the Washington County Jail after police say she gave two juveniles contraband in exchange for a ride to Taco Bell, where she paid for the food purchase with a counterfeit $100 bill.

Tasha Elaine Jennings, 41, was booked just before midnight on Wednesday on suspicion of of:

  • Possession of forged writing or device for forgery writing, a third-degree felony
  • Possession of a controlled substance, marijuana/spice, a third-degree felony
  • Two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a class B misdemeanor
  • Use or possession of drug paraphernalia, a class B misdemeanor

“I was advised Tasha asked the juveniles to go to Taco Bell and she was buying,” says a probable cause statement, signed by Officer Doug Iverson, St. George Police Department.

“At the drive-thru, Tasha handed the counterfeit $100 bill to the driver, Frank Forsyth, to pay the cashier with. The manager at Taco Bell collected the bill and the vehicle left. Tasha was later located near the One and Only Bar with the male Mario Souza.

“After talking with Tasha and providing her with her rights per Miranda, she requested an attorney and no further questioning was done.”

Jennings was on parole or probation for another case, the statement says. The juvenile females were taken to an institution for minors, the statement says.
