LEHI, Utah, Nov 13, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — The Lehi City Fire Department is hosting an open house Thursday for people who would like to celebrate the opening of Fire Station 84.
The open house, at 3495 W. 1500 North, will be from 3 to 6 p.m., with a hose-cutting ceremony at 3:30 p.m.
“Fire Station 84 is more than just a building—it represents a vital commitment to the safety and well-being of our community,” said Lehi City Fire Chief Jeremy Craft.
Fire Station 84 spans 17,000 square feet and was built with growth in mind, equipped to eventually house up to 24 firefighters to meet increasing demand.
Initially, the station will be staffed by 18 new firefighters, with six personnel per shift. The station includes nine dorms, a large kitchen and day room, a dedicated workout room, and a versatile training/community room. Visitors will have the opportunity to see these spaces and learn more about the station’s capabilities, which include four apparatus bays and a fleet consisting of a fire engine, ambulance, and brush truck. The facility will also serve as the new base for the Lehi Fire Department’s training division.
“With this new station, we’re able to respond even faster in emergencies, bringing critical services closer to our residents when every second counts,” said Chief Craft. “This station is a key part of our mission to protect lives, safeguard property, and build strong connections between our team and the people of Lehi.”
Fire Station 84 is Lehi’s fourth fire station and is positioned to serve the rapidly growing west side of Lehi, where call volumes have steadily increased due to new developments, including a recently opened emergency room and an upcoming hospital. With the completion of this new station, Lehi Fire Department further reinforces its “all risk” commitment to respond to a broad range of emergencies, from fires and medical calls to disaster response.
Lehi’s population is 90,000.
