KEARNS/TAYLORSVILLE, Utah, Sept. 6, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Unified Police have arrested two brothers on suspicion of robbing a Kearns credit union Tuesday afternoon.

Victor Ramirez, 20, and Jose Ramirez, 23, were arrested in connection with the robbery of the Mountain America Credit Union at 5471 S. 4015 West at 12:30 p.m.

A suspect entered the bank and said he had a gun, though none was seen. He then left in a vehicle with a second suspect.

Jose Ramirez has been linked to at least two other bank robberies.

Bell said a description of the suspects and the vehicle was circulated, and five minutes after the robbery, a vehicle and suspects matching that description pulled into a 7-Eleven at 4700 S. 4000 West, right in front of a Unified police car. Items found in the car led police to further determine those suspects were involved in the robbery.

Officers were taking the suspects from the bank robbery in Kearns into custody when another bank robbery occurred at Hercules Credit Union, 3141 W. 4700 South, Taylorsville.

The suspects from the second robbery are still on the loose, said Unified Police Department Lt. Lex Bell. The suspect who went into the credit union is described as having a darker complexion, wearing a gray hoodie, sunglasses and a bandanna over his face. He threatened the teller with a gun and received cash, then fled south from the credit union. A witness then said he got into the passenger seat of a blue-gray Chevy Silverado.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information becomes available.
