MURRAY, UTAH – September 23, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Two people have been wounded after a shooting Wednesday night at a Murray apartment complex.
Police were first called to the Brickgate Apartments at 160 West 4490 South just before 9 p.m.
When first responders arrived they say they came across two men dragging a wounded man into a vehicle from the apartment complex.
EMTs intervened and rushed the victim to an area hospital in what was first reported to be critical condition. Police say it turns out a bullet grazed the victim’s head. He’s been upgraded to fair condition.
A second victim was also taken to the hospital with a minor gun shot wound to the arm. He’s reported in good condition.
An eyewitness to the shooting tells Gephardt Daily the incident was triggered by a child hazing incident earlier in the evening. The witness said parents and onlookers from adjoining apartments became involved in a heated shouting match just before the shots rang out.
Dozens of people reportedly ran for cover.
Police are searching for a least one shooting suspect.
Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information become available.
