OLYMPUS COVE, Utah, Sept. 1, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — Fire crews worked to free a man who was trapped by heavy equipment in the Olympus Cove area Wednesday afternoon.

“Unified Fire Authority has a working incident with a medical helicopter flying near 4600 South and Wasatch Boulevard,” said a tweet from UFA at 2 p.m.

“Single patient trapped by heavy equipment. Crews working to free the patient who is conscious and talking with responders.”

A follow-up tweet said the man has been extricated and taken to the medical helicopter for transport.

He is in serious but stable condition, the tweet said.

The man was trapped under equipment that rolled off a steep embankment.

“Multiple companies, including the heavy rescue company, worked for over an hour to free the patient,” the follow-up tweet said.
