MILLARD COUNTY, Utah, Jan. 12, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) — A former University of Utah employee fired in 2018 has been arrested for the alleged theft of two hard drives from a U of U building.
David Carlisle Barr, 63, was arrested after the drives were allegedly found during a Millard County Sheriff‘s Office inventory of his car for another case. Barr had never returned his building keys after being fired, his arrest documents say.
Barr was ordered held without bail Saturday for investigation of:
- Conspiracy burglary, a third-degree felony
- Conspiracy theft valued at greater than $500, a class B misdemeanor
- Conspiracy criminal trespass, a class B misdemeanor
The statement says Barr was on probation or parole at the time of the theft discovery.
