MOAB, Utah, Oct. 26, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Moab City Police Department officers are searching for a man who is thought to have fired a handgun outside a preschool Thursday morning.
Moab police said in a news release on Facebook that the department received a report of possible shots fired in the area of Grand County Preschool at 100 N. 200 East at approximately 10:30 a.m.
“It was reported that a male subject discharged a single round from a handgun toward the ground as the subject was walking west on the sidewalk,” the news release said.
“Officers with the Moab City Police Department and Grand County Sheriff’s Office immediately canvassed the area, contacted potential witnesses and suspects, and ensured the safety and security of all local schools.”
Officers have not yet located the subject, described as a man with a “salt and pepper” beard, wearing a vest and long-sleeve shirt with the sleeves partially rolled up.
Officers are still investigating the incident and there is no immediate threat to the community.
