OREM, Utah, March 10, 2016 (Kurt Hanson) — A man was arrested Wednesday night after reports of a young girl molested at a recreational pool in Orem, according to Daily Herald.
The mother of a 10-year-old girl contacted Orem police and reported her daughter had been inappropriately touched in the lazy river, reports state.
When officers arrived they found the suspect,
Demetrio Avelino Siruno, 38, whom both the victim and the mother both identified as the man who touched her, still in the pool. Officers waited for Siruno to exit the locker room before confronting him. He was taken down to the Orem Police Department for questioning.
During the interview with officers, the young victim told them she was in the lazy river when a “male with long hair” grabbed her crotch over her swimsuit three to five times, reports state.
Siruno told officers he wouldn’t answer questions without a lawyer present. He was then transported to the Utah County Jail where he was booked on suspicion of three second-degree felony charges of sexual abuse of a child.
