MOAB, Utah, March 3, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A rock slide on State Route 128 just outside Moab has closed the road in one direction Sunday morning.
A tweet from the Utah Highway Patrol Southeast Region said the rock slide happened at mile post 1 and there are five to six rocks “the size of motorhomes” on the roadway.
“Moab traffic is able to alternate around the rock slide,” a follow-up tweet said. “The Utah Department of Transportation is working to clear the road and checking the highway for damage.”
UDOT may have to use explosives once they remove the small boulders, the tweet said.
Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.
