SPENCER, Idaho, July 22, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A female passenger on a motorcycle died when the male driver lost control of the vehicle near Spencer, Idaho.
Both were from Weber County, Utah.
The incident happened at 10:51 a.m. Monday, on Interstate 15 near milepost 179.1, a statement from Idaho State Police says.
“A Kawasaki motorcycle, driven by a 69-year-old male from Farr West, Utah, was traveling southbound on I-15,” the ISP statement says. “He lost control of the motorcycle and crashed, blocking both southbound lanes of I-15.
“His passenger, a 60-year-old female from Farr West, Utah, succumbed to her injuries at the time of the crash. The driver was transported by air ambulance to a local hospital. Both occupants were wearing helmets.”
The roadway was blocked for approximately four hours, the police statement says. The crash is under investigation, and the name of the woman killed has not been released.
