UTAH, Sept. 24, 2020 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Department of Health on Thursday reported a record high of 1,198 new COVID-19 cases confirmed in the past 24 hours.
No new deaths were reported in that time period.
Utah’s cumulative number of confirmed coronavirus cases now stands at 67,119. Confirmed COVID-19 deaths in Utah remain at 444.
Lab tests performed number 784,975. Of those, 9,117 were performed in the past 24 hours.
The rolling seven-day average for positive tests is 916 per day. The rolling seven-day average for percent of positive laboratory tests is 14.2%.
There are 188 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19. Total hospitalizations from the beginning of the outbreak are 3,619.
Patients classified as recovered, defined as still living three weeks after diagnosis, number 52,860. It is common for COVID-19 patients to die more than three weeks after diagnosis.
