SPARTANBURG, S.C., Nov. 5 (UPI) — Investigators discovered a body near the property where a missing South Carolina woman was found chained inside a storage container.
Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger said the body was found on Friday afternoon after cadaver-sniffing dogs signaled there were human remains on the property where 30-year-old Kayla Brown was held hostage, according to WYFF.
Clevenger did not identify the body and 7th Circuit Solicitor’s Office spokesman Murray Glenn would not specify if the body was a man or a woman, CNN reported.
Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright said it was too early to determine how the person died and would not clarify whether a body or skeletal remains were found.
Brown who went missing with her boyfriend, 32-year-old Charlie Carver, about two months ago indicated there may be four people buried on the property.
Carver remains missing, but his vehicle was found on the property where Brown had been held captive.
Police charged property owner Todd Kohlhepp, a convicted sex offender in Arizona, with kidnapping Brown some time on or around August 31.
