WASHINGTON COUNTY, Utah, May 31, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Emergency personnel from several agencies responded to Gunlock State Park on Friday after receiving calls saying a man had jumped from the waterfalls into the water and didn’t resurface.

According to a news release from park officials, Utah State Parks Rangers, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Washington County Search and Rescue, and Bureau of Land Management law enforcement were at the scene to aid in the search for the man, who was reported to be in his 30s.

He apparently had been jumping from the top of the falls into the water below Friday afternoon and, at some point, failed to come back up.

The incident was still under investigation late Friday night.

Gephardt Daily will update this developing story as more information becomes available.
