OGDEN, Utah, July 11, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Twenty firefighters battled a blaze in Ogden Monday night, using ground crews and ladder trucks to douse flames on two floors.
Crews were dispatched at 7:24 p.m. to a residence near 1000 East and 1150 North. The two residents were evacuated safely by 7:42, according to a tweet by the Ogden Fire Department.
The fire was seen first in the attic area, with flames coming through the roof. Crews battled the fire on the ground floor area first, then used the ladder trucks to fight the flames on the upper floor.
Within an hour of dispatch, the fire was 99 percent out, according to OFD deputy chief Eric Bauman. The Red Cross arrived to assist the displaced couple.
Bauman said no one was injured, and he estimated the fire had caused about $80,000 in damages. The cause of the fire will be investigated.
