OGDEN, Utah, April 5, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — Ogden Police officials have identified the victim of a fatal shooting Saturday outside the Smith’s grocery store at 1485 Harrison Blvd. near the mouth of Ogden Canyon.
The victim was Mindee Lavell Elmore, 41.
Investigators believe she was shot by a former boyfriend who later turned a gun on himself after a standoff with police.

“This is an ongoing investigation. No further information will be released at this time,” the OPD statement says.
Police have yet to release the name of the ex-boyfriend who was reported in critical condition after shooting himself in the front yard of a home in the 900 block of Maple Street in Ogden.
“The suspect — who was armed with a semi-automatic handgun — refused orders to surrender. The Ogden Metro SWAT team responded, and neighboring homes were evacuated.
“After a multi-hour negotiation, the suspect shot himself,” Ogden PD said. “SWAT paramedics rendered immediate aid before the suspect was transported to a local hospital. He is currently in critical condition.”
The suspect’s name has not yet been released by police.
