WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, March 25, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — A crosswalk safety operation carried out by West Valley City police Wednesday also resulted in a felony drug arrest.
“UPDATE: today’s crosswalk safety operation saw 152 total violations,” said a tweet from West Valley City Police Department Wednesday night. “We hope that it also helped educate many more people about crosswalk safety.
“Side note: this operation also resulted in a felony drug arrest with more than $3,000 in cash and 4.5 oz. of heroin recovered.”
The safety operation aimed to educate drivers on subjects such as the rules of school crosswalks, reaction times and who has the right of way when crossing.
