Mountain Green fire chief responds to own bathroom for kitten rescue

MORGAN COUNTY, Utah, June 12, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Always at the ready, Mountain Green Fire Chief Brian Brendel was alarmed but responsive when he heard a frantic call for help from his own house.

From the bathroom vanity area, to be specific.

“Who would have thought the Fire Chief would have to respond to a cat rescue in his own house?” says a playful post from Mountain Green Fire.

“At 3 a.m. this morning, a kitty being fostered by Mrs. Chief (the REAL Chief), started yowling his dismay when kitty got stuck in the bathroom vanity. Chief 131 responded (to his own bathroom) and proceeded to assess the rescue situation.”

Brendel, whose name was suspiciously left out of the post, decided to handle the rescue himself.

“Not wanting to waken the rest of the firefighters, Chief proceeded alone to disassemble the vanity to access the kitty patient. After a bit of coaxing with some high-tech rescue tools (see picture, below) we were able to un-stick the stuck kitty. As you can see, kitty and Chiefy are just fine and good friends. Until next time.”
