New wildfire sparks in Tooele County

LAKE POINT, Utah, July 7, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — North Tooele Fire District is responding to a new wildfire behind the TA Travel Center in Lake Point.

The fire, called the Saddleback Assist, was first reported at 9:23 a.m. Sunday, and has been estimated at about two acres.

“Our units are currently fighting a wildland fire near the TA in Lake Point,” says a post by North Tooele Fire District.

“Please avoid the area and keep the access roads clear for emergency vehicles — 9:30am-Sunday July 7.”
