Nine out of 20 commercial trucks fail Park City spot inspection

PARK CITY, Utah, June 15, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Nine out of 20 commercial haulers failed an inspection clinic conducted by the Park City Police Department.

“Our officers just completed another round of large commercial truck inspections, the department said online Friday afternoon. “

“This time we got help from our partners at the Utah Highway Patrol who brought out a new state-of-the-art machine that measures a truck’s braking power.

Twenty commercial trucks, typically semi-ruck trailers, officials said, were run through the Performance Based Brake Testing machine. Sixteen of those were brought in for a Level 1 Full inspection.

The results:

• 115 total violations were observed.

• 26 were “out of service” Violations.

• 9 commercial trucks were placed out of service

• 1 driver was placed out of service.

The inspection event was held at Park City High School Wednesday and lasted about four hours.
