UTAH, Sept. 6, 2020 (Gephardt Daily) — High winds are forecast for parts of the Wasatch Front late Monday night into Tuesday as a cold front moves through the area, according to the National Weather Service Salt Lake City.
The temperatures are expected to be 25 degrees Fahrenheit lower than normal for this time of year and more like mid-October, NWS said on its website.
Gusts of up to 75 mph are possible in the Farmington and Centerville area, shown in red on the map, said a tweet from the NWS, with gusts between 30 and 60 mph in other parts of northern Utah shown in yellow on the map.
“Strong crosswinds along I-15 in Davis, Weber and northern Salt Lake counties as well as U.S. Highway 89 and Legacy Parkway,” the tweet said.
The NWS is predicting possible power outages and property damage and residents should take action to secure loose objects, the tweet said.
Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.
