Utah Highway Patrol said in a news release that the accident occurred at about 4:30 p.m. when the driver fell asleep as the semi neared milepost 246.
“The semi gradually drifted off the right shoulder, into a fence, and up a slight embankment,” the news release states. “As it went up the embankment, the semi rolled over, coming to rest on its top.”
The driver had minor injuries. No other vehicles were involved.
According to Payson Fire Rescue, an ambulance and two engines responded to the scene, as well as personnel from Santaquin Fire Department.
The right lane was closed for several hours as crews worked to offload the trailer.
